Affordable Bus Fares And Special Ride Rates

Public transportation should be safe, convenient and affordable. We make every effort to keep our bus fares, taxi fares and special transportation fares as low as possible. When you add up the cost of your time, gas and vehicle wear and tear, most of our bus fares and other ride rates are cheaper than driving. Think of it as My SWITA. My Ride.

Taxi

Taxi Service is available through SWITA in the
following towns:

Atlantic — 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday – Saturday; Sundays 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Glenwood — 8 a.m. to Noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday
Harlan – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday
Missouri Valley – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday – Friday
Red Oak – 7:30 a.m. to Noon and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday
Shenandoah – 8:30 a.m. to Noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Friday

Medical Rates/Special Trips

Medical transportation is available at a rate of $35 per hour. Special trips are available starting at $45 per hour.

Student Transportation

Regular rates for students not served by regular school district-provided transportation are $1.75 per trip. SWITA Student Transportation rates are available within city limits in the following communities:

Atlantic Pre-Schools
Glenwood K-12
Glenwood Pre-Schools
Harlan K-12
Harlan Little Cyclones Pre-School
Shelby County Catholic School
Red Oak K-12
Red Oak Pre-School

Who needs a ride?

Students, from Pre-K to college-age. Seniors. People with disabilities. Anyone who doesn’t feel like driving or doesn’t have a car. In other words, everyone. Our services are open to the public, flexible and affordable.

On-demand rides are available from 6 a.m. – 5 p.m., Mon. through Fri., excluding holidays. Contract transportation available for businesses and employees. All vehicles are handicapped accessible.
